What I did working at Noon
I was Noon’s first product designer in Egypt, leading marketplace design across all platforms. I played a key role in shaping features like customer reviews, helping transform Noon into a super app with services like Noon Minutes, Noon Food, and Noon Pay.
My role at Noon
• Designed the first version of the style guide and UI library, leading to the initial version of Noon's Design System.
• Collaborated on core Noon products, designing from scratch for Noon Mins, Noon Food, Sivvi, Noon Daily, and more.
• Conduct or review findings from user research sessions
• Document design decisions, guidelines, and workflows.
• Coordinating the hiring process together with the Head of Design and the HR team.
Building Noon's customer reviews
Noon initially used a third-party tool, "Test Freaks," for product reviews, but it lacked trust from both customers and sellers, leading to a 20% drop in sales and a 30% increase in purchase abandonment. To resolve this, I led the design of a new in-house review system, overseeing everything from submission to display, with a moderation feature ensuring all reviews were vetted before going live.
